We searched around for a long time to find a builder who we felt confident about and I'm glad that we opted for David and his team. He and his people are reliable, skilful and highly experienced and we felt well advised by them every step of the way. David Bishop was very detailed, honest and transparent about costs and we found the company very professional to deal with. They knew exactly what they were doing and did it well.
David was always available to discuss practical choices and issues with us and had a very wide range of expert professionals and suppliers he could call on or recommend to us. We felt in very safe hands.
The project was to knock a small kitchen and dining room into one kitchen diner and add a 2m wide extension and modern kitchen. Add a new patio and turn an old tired, small bathroom and tiny upstairs toilet into a modern wet room style bathroom. We also converted an old pantry into a guest toilet downstairs. In addition we had every room redecorated, quite a few new laminate floors installed and added some new features such as underfloor heating in the kitchen diner and bathroom. Basically the project was to renovate and refresh a rather tired 1920's semi detached house and that's exactly what David and his team delivered to us.
We are delighted with our new home - the finished product- it's solid, well put together, attractive and works for us. Even the cats seem pleased with their new through- wall cat door! I would definitely use David Bishop and team again and would warmly recommend them to family and friends.

Dave Bishop and his team worked for me for 10 months during 2010. The challenge was to turn a wreck into a home that was not just habitable, but charming and practical. The work was complicated - the house is tall and narrow with no easy access from the street, and had a very steep garden which needed excavating. Sixty skips were filled from the garden. There were other unforeseen problems along the way - there always would be on a job of this scale - but Dave met them all with equanimity, and found solutions to them all. Throughout the entire job (during which I was out of action for six weeks having an operation), Dave remained absolutely in charge, calm and solution-driven. His team are personable, thoughtful and considerate (and highly skilled). The quality of the work was extremely high; Dave doesn't cut corners, and despite being out of my comfort zone having never embarked on a project of this nature before, I never once worried about the standard of work. Dave always responded immediately to phone calls and there was never a day when the builders didn't turn up (or turned up late, whatever). Dave came to me on the highest recommendation of a friend, and I would be happy to recommend him onwards.

In September 2015 my husband and I commissioned David Bishop design and build to undertake a two-storey extension to our 1930's chalet style home, the first of its kind granted permission on our road. The project was on time, on budget, and mindful of our neighbours. We also benefited from David's unusual design-led perspective on the build which included a stunning garden renovation. We have had the pleasure in recommending him a number of times since and he is currently working on the third project just on our road!
